The All Africans Indie Film Festival has announced veteran Nigerian filmmaker, actress, and producer Judith Audu as a juror for its 2026 edition, in a partnership with the Brixton Film Festival that will see films selected at the Lagos festival also screened in London.
Founded in 2024 by Rebecca Isi Imafidon, the All Africans Indie Film Festival is a pan-African platform dedicated to discovering, developing, and supporting emerging filmmakers, storytellers, and creative entrepreneurs across Nigeria and the African diaspora. Now in its third year, the festival has grown from a single flagship event into a year-round cultural programme. The 2026 calendar spans 11 major programmes, expects over 2,500 participants, and reaches across 36 states and the diaspora. Events across the year include the AAIFF Book Club, a monthly discussion and reading circle exploring African literature, adaptation, and storytelling; Women in Arts and Film, a celebration of women filmmakers, writers, artists, and cultural voices; Men in Arts and Film, featuring spotlight conversations and mentorship experiences for male creatives; and a Transnational Cinema Week, an online showcase exploring diaspora cinema, migration stories, international collaboration, and cross-border storytelling.
The flagship All Africans Indie Film Festival, now in its 3rd edition, holds on Saturday 28th November 2026 and features screenings, awards, conversations, workshops, and international guests. The venue is yet to be officially communicated. A key feature of the 2026 edition is its partnership with the Brixton Film Festival, through which films selected at AAIFF will also be screened in London, giving African independent filmmakers a direct and meaningful pathway to a UK audience without leaving the Lagos ecosystem.
Judith Audu is one of Nigeria’s most sought-after producers and multi-hyphenate creatives. She started out as an actress and has grown to become a producer of international recognition, holding a Certificate in Directing from the London Film Academy, a Masters degree in Public and International Affairs, and a BA in French, both from the University of Lagos. Her debut feature film Just Not Married was one of eight Nollywood films officially selected to premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival. Her subsequent productions include The Family and The Sessions, and she has over 50 film and television credits as an actress and has won over five Best Actress awards across her career. She serves as a member of the Directors Guild of Nigeria, the Association of Movie Producers, and holds the designation of Nigeria HPS, an honour linked to her humanitarian work. Since 2019, she has been an active supporter of the UN Refugee Agency, using her platform to advocate for social justice, raise awareness on sexual and gender-based violence, and encourage women to speak out against domestic abuse.
The appointment of Judith Audu to the AAIFF jury reflects the festival’s commitment to building a jury panel that embodies the full range of African creative experience, bringing together industry leadership, international exposure, and a genuine investment in the continent’s storytelling future.
