Advertising rules
For native ads on the NollywoodCV blog
Native ads are small picture adverts shown on the NollywoodCV blog. Every ad is clearly marked "Native Ad" so readers always know it is an advert and not an article. By booking an ad, you agree to these rules.
Who can advertise
- Any registered NollywoodCV member, free or Premium.
- An ad runs for 7 days and costs ₦5,000, paid once through Paystack. No card is saved and nothing renews by itself.
- You can renew a running ad in its last 2 days. The new days are added to your end date.
What your ad is
- One picture and one link. NollywoodCV shows it in its own ad box; advertisers cannot add code, sound, pop-ups or anything else.
- The link must open a real website. The system checks it before you pay and again whenever you change it.
- You must own the picture, or have permission to use everything in it (photos, posters, logos and text).
Design my ad
- No picture? Choose one of NollywoodCV's ready templates, add your words and photos, and we make the picture for you.
- Some templates are free and some have a small one-time design fee, shown before you pay. Renewing the same ad never charges the design fee again.
- The design preview carries a "PREVIEW" watermark. Your ad goes live without it, and you can download the clean picture once it is running.
- Designs that are not paid for are deleted after 24 hours.
- Casting-call templates always show "Never pay to audition".
Not allowed
- Asking people to pay to audition. Casting calls that charge audition, registration or "form" fees are banned. These ads are suspended with no refund.
- Pretending to be NollywoodCV. Ads must not use the NollywoodCV name or logo, or look like an official NollywoodCV message.
- Scams, fraud, fake jobs, fake giveaways and "double your money" offers.
- Misleading claims, false prices or fake reviews.
- Adult or sexual content, and anything offensive, hateful or violent.
- Illegal products or services.
- Links that lead to harmful downloads, fake login pages or anything that asks for passwords or card details under false pretences.
- Pictures, posters, music or logos you do not have the right to use.
How ads are checked
- The system checks every picture and link before an ad goes live.
- NollywoodCV is told about every new or changed ad and can pause or stop any ad at any time.
- Signed-in members can report an ad. An ad reported by 10 members is paused automatically until NollywoodCV reviews it.
If an ad breaks these rules
An ad that breaks these rules can be paused or suspended. Suspended ads are not refunded. Paused ads that return to the blog get their paused time added back.
Payments, refunds and receipts
- Payments are taken by Paystack. Your slot is held for 30 minutes while you pay.
- There are no refunds once an ad has gone live, or for ads suspended for breaking these rules.
- Starting several payments without finishing them can pause your bookings for 24 hours.
- Receipts for every payment are in Dashboard → My Ads.
- The price you see when you click Pay is the price you pay, even if prices change while you are paying.
Your ad picture
- You can download your ad picture from My Ads once your ad has run.
- Pictures are deleted 7 days after the ad ends. The record of your ad stays in My Ads.
