Filmmaker, cinematographer, and Rixel Studios founder Oreoluwa "Nora" Awolowo has shared a timely message with Nollywood practitioners, emphasizing work ethic, professionalism, and post-production dedication across film sets.
Taking to her X page, the AMVCA-winning director urged actors and crew members to approach every project with diligence and gratitude, particularly at a time when funding and producing feature films in Nigeria requires significant financial effort.
"If anyone calls or pays you to work on a film during this period, whether as an actor or crew member, please show up and do the work diligently," Nora wrote. "Thank them genuinely for the opportunity, give your best, and do your bit to help push and promote the project."
Her message highlights a growing conversation in the Nigerian film industry regarding accountability and project promotion. As production costs continue to rise, filmmakers increasingly rely on collective effort from both cast and crew to ensure a film's success from set to screen.
Nora's journey in Nollywood began with mobile phone photography while studying accounting at Ekiti State University. Over the years, she has grown an impressive portfolio as a director, cinematographer, and producer. Her notable projects include the AMVCA-winning FIFA original documentary Nigeria: The Debut, the box-office success Red Circle, and the recently released crime thriller Black Market, which hosted a historic screening at Tafawa Balewa Square in Lagos.
Through her work at Rixel Studios and recent appointment as a Canon brand ambassador, Nora continues to champion strong production values, creative discipline, and mentorship within the Nigerian film ecosystem.
