8.2 Cookie Consent
When you first visit NollywoodCV.com, a cookie banner will be prominently displayed in accordance with the GAID 2025 requirement that such notices obstruct part of the screen and are visible without scrolling. You may withdraw your cookie consent at any time by adjusting your browser settings or by using the cookie preference tool on the Platform. Withdrawing consent will not affect the lawfulness of any processing that occurred prior to withdrawal.

NollywoodCV.com is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13 without verifiable parental consent. If we become aware that a child under 13 has provided us with personal data without parental consent, we will delete that data promptly. 11. International Data Transfers
Where any of our third-party service providers are located outside Nigeria, any transfer of your personal data to such providers will be carried out in compliance with the cross-border transfer requirements of the NDPA 2023 and the GAID 2025, including ensuring that adequate safeguards are in place to protect your data.

Anti-Piracy and Copyright Policy

This Anti-Piracy and Copyright Policy ("Policy") sets out the position of Nollywood CV Limited ("we", "us", or "our"), the owner and operator of NollywoodCV.com ("the Platform"), with respect to copyright protection and the prevention of piracy. This Policy is issued in compliance with the Copyright Act 2022 (Nigeria), including its notice-and-takedown provisions under Part VII, the Cybercrimes (Prohibition, Prevention, Etc.) Amendment Act 2024, and all other applicable laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. By using the Platform, you agree to be fully bound by this Policy.
1. Our Commitment
Nollywood CV Limited is committed to protecting the intellectual property rights of creators, filmmakers, actors, and all rights holders within the Nigerian film industry and beyond. We take piracy and copyright infringement seriously and will act swiftly and decisively to address any violations on the Platform.
We operate as a service provider within the meaning of the Copyright Act 2022. We comply fully with our obligations under Part VII of that Act, including the mandatory notice-and-takedown regime established under Sections 54 and 55 of the Act.
2. Definition of Copyright Infringement and Piracy
For the purposes of this Policy, copyright infringement and piracy include but are not limited to:
- Uploading, sharing, streaming, or distributing any film, script, video, image, audio recording, or other creative work on the Platform without the authorisation of the copyright owner.
- Reproducing, copying, or redistributing content from the Platform or from other users without their express written consent.
- Circumventing or disabling any Technological Protection Measures (TPMs) or Digital Rights Management (DRM) tools applied to any content, contrary to Section 43 of the Copyright Act 2022.
- Importing or distributing infringing copies of copyrighted works in any format, including digital formats.
- Removing, altering, or falsifying any electronic rights management information attached to a work.
- Using another user's portfolio content, images, or profile materials without their consent.
3. User Responsibilities
Every user of NollywoodCV.com bears sole responsibility for all content they upload or share on the Platform. By uploading any content, you represent and warrant that:
- You are the original creator and copyright owner of the content, or you have obtained all necessary licences, permissions, and consents from the copyright owner to upload and share it on the Platform.
- Your content does not infringe the copyright, moral rights, or any other intellectual property rights of any third party.
- You have not circumvented any TPM or DRM measure in order to obtain or share the content.
Any breach of these representations exposes you to immediate account action by Nollywood CV Limited, as well as civil and criminal liability under the Copyright Act 2022 and the Cybercrimes (Prohibition, Prevention, Etc.) Amendment Act 2024.
4. Prohibited Activities
The following activities are strictly prohibited on NollywoodCV.com:
- Uploading any full-length or partial Nollywood film, music video, script, or other audiovisual work that you do not own or have explicit authorisation to share.
- Downloading, recording, screen-capturing, or otherwise extracting content uploaded by other users without their consent.
- Using any automated tool, bot, or software to scrape, harvest, or download content from the Platform.
- Sharing links to or embedding content hosted on piracy sites or unauthorised streaming platforms.
- Commercially exploiting any content on the Platform without the express written consent of the rights holder.
- Circumventing any security or access control feature of the Platform.
5. Notice and Takedown Procedure
Nollywood CV Limited operates a formal notice-and-takedown procedure in compliance with Sections 54 and 55 of the Copyright Act 2022. If you are a copyright owner and you believe that content on NollywoodCV.com infringes your rights, you may submit a written infringement notice to us as follows:
5.1 How to Submit an Infringement Notice
Send your notice to hello@nollywoodcv.com with the subject line: COPYRIGHT INFRINGEMENT NOTICE.
Your notice must include:
- Your full name, contact details, and a statement of your capacity as the rights holder or authorised agent.
- A clear description of the copyrighted work you claim has been infringed.
- The specific URL or location on the Platform where the infringing content is found.
- Evidence of your ownership of or authorisation to act in respect of the copyrighted work.
- A statement made in good faith that the use of the material is not authorised by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law.
- A declaration that the information in your notice is accurate and that you are the rights holder or are authorised to act on behalf of the rights holder.
5.2 Our Response
Upon receipt of a valid infringement notice, Nollywood CV Limited will:
- Acknowledge receipt of the notice promptly.
- Investigate the claim and, where infringement is verified, expeditiously remove or disable access to the infringing content in accordance with Section 55 of the Copyright Act 2022.
- Notify the user who uploaded the content that it has been removed and the reason for removal.
- Maintain a record of the notice and takedown action taken.
A service provider that complies with a valid takedown notice is afforded a statutory defence under Section 55(6) of the Copyright Act 2022 and shall not be liable to any person for actions taken in good faith compliance with such a notice.
5.3 Stay-Down Obligation
In accordance with Section 54(3) of the Copyright Act 2022, Nollywood CV Limited will take reasonable technical measures to prevent the re-upload of content that has been the subject of a verified takedown notice. Any user who re-uploads content that has been taken down for copyright infringement will face immediate account suspension and may be reported to the Nigerian Copyright Commission (NCC).
5.4 Counter-Notice
If you believe that content of yours has been removed in error, you may submit a counter-notice to hello@nollywoodcv.com. Your counter-notice must include your full contact details, identification of the removed content and its previous location, and a statement made in good faith that the content was removed as a result of a mistake or misidentification. Nollywood CV Limited will review counter-notices in accordance with the Copyright Act 2022 and restore content where appropriate.
6. Repeat Infringer Policy
Nollywood CV Limited maintains a strict zero-tolerance policy toward repeat copyright infringement, in accordance with the account suspension provisions of the Copyright Act 2022. Users who repeatedly infringe the rights of others will have their accounts permanently suspended without further notice. Nollywood CV Limited reserves the right to determine what constitutes repeated infringement based on the number, nature, and severity of verified infringement reports against a user.
Permanent suspension does not preclude Nollywood CV Limited from pursuing civil remedies or reporting the user to the Nigerian Copyright Commission (NCC) or law enforcement authorities.
7. Protection of Your Content on the Platform
Nollywood CV Limited takes the following measures to protect the content that users upload to the Platform:
- Implementation of secure access controls to restrict unauthorised downloads or redistribution of content.
- Monitoring for suspicious upload activity that may indicate infringing material.
- Enforcement of the notice-and-takedown regime described in Clause 5 above.
We also strongly encourage all users to take their own protective measures, including watermarking images and video materials before uploading them to the Platform, and registering their works with the Nigerian Copyright Commission (NCC) for additional legal protection.
8. Consequences of Violation
Users found to have violated this Policy may face any or all of the following:
- Immediate removal of the infringing content from the Platform.
- Formal warning issued to the user's account.
- Temporary suspension or permanent termination of the user's account.
- Reporting to the Nigerian Copyright Commission (NCC) for investigation and potential prosecution.
- Reporting to law enforcement authorities under the Cybercrimes (Prohibition, Prevention, Etc.) Amendment Act 2024.
- Civil legal action by Nollywood CV Limited or the aggrieved rights holder, including claims for damages, injunctive relief, and account of profits.
9. Disclaimer of Liability
Nollywood CV Limited is not the author or producer of user-uploaded content and does not pre-screen all materials submitted to the Platform. However, upon receiving a valid infringement notice, we will act in accordance with our obligations under the Copyright Act 2022. Nollywood CV Limited shall not be liable for copyright infringement committed by users, provided we comply promptly with valid takedown notices as required by law.
