Nigerian actress and filmmaker Funke Akindele has announced the title of her next cinema film, following the teaser she released earlier on Monday which had fans waiting to find out what project she was preparing.

The film is titled The Four: No One Fights Alone and will be released in cinemas on December 11, 2026.

Funke Akindele first teased the project with a football-themed video featuring Richard Mofe-Damijo, Olumide Oworu, Tobi Bakre, Uzee Usman and other actors. The video showed a packed stadium, with people preparing for what looked like a relay competition while RMD announced that viewers would find out which movie from Funke Akindele’s production company would make it to the cinema.

She has now followed up with the official title and a series of promotional images introducing the cast of the film.

The announcement also gives audiences a first look at the visual direction of the film. The four female leads appear in elaborate, colourful outfits in one of the posters, while another brings together a larger part of the cast in football-inspired outfits, a detail that connects with the sporting theme used in the teaser.

The Four is produced under Funke Akindele Network, with Akindele leading the project as part of her continued run of major cinema productions.

The December release also places the film in the busy end-of-year cinema period, following the strong commercial performances of Akindele’s recent projects, including A Tribe Called Judah and Everybody Loves Jenifa.

With the title, cast and release date now announced, more details about the characters and the full story are expected as the promotion for the film begins.
