The Toronto International Nollywood Film Festival is celebrating a decade of existence with its most ambitious programme to date. TINFF@10, the festival’s tenth anniversary edition, runs from 4th to 12th September 2026 in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, and brings together 11 days of film, industry, fashion, live performances, and global connections across multiple venues in the city.
The festival opens officially on Friday 4th September 2026 at York Woods Library Theatre, 1785 Finch Avenue West, Toronto, with an opening day programme running from 1:00pm to 9:30pm. The evening features a red carpet and media lounge, the world premiere screening of the official opening film Night of Deception from Canada, an opening ceremony and tenth anniversary celebration, live performances, the TICAFF Stand-Up Comedy Showcase, special presentations, filmmaker introductions, international guests, festival honours, and an outstanding lineup of evening screenings with filmmaker Q&As. Screening passes for the opening night are free.
Founded as the first Canadian festival with authentic Nollywood roots to receive national recognition, TINFF has grown significantly over the past decade. It is a Canadian Screen Award-qualifying festival, a Telefilm Canada-qualifying festival, one of Telefilm Canada’s Top 25 approved medium-to-large scale film festivals for 2026 to 2027, and an official IMDb festival. The festival also operates a subsidiary company, The Cinematic Box Distribution Canada, which is officially approved by the Canada Media Fund as an eligible worldwide distributor for CMF-funded films, giving it distribution reach valued at up to $3.5 million in licensing value.
The TINFF@10 programme is structured across twelve major components. Alongside the official festival screenings across multiple Toronto venues, the programme includes a TINFF Media Day on 29th August 2026 from 2:00pm to 6:30pm at a venue to be announced, followed by Industry Week from 7th to 11th September, featuring a week of panels, masterclasses, pitching forums, networking sessions, and one-on-one meetings with global industry leaders. The TINFF Market runs concurrently from 7th to 11th September, connecting filmmakers with distributors, broadcasters, investors, and industry decision-makers from around the world.
The 4th Annual Canada Black and Diversity Film Market Summit, CBDF Market Summit, also runs from 7th to 11th September alongside the TINFF Market, driving conversations about the future of film and television for Black and diverse creators globally. TINFF Fashion Week runs from 7th to 11th September with runway shows, designer presentations, industry talks, and creative showcases celebrating fashion, culture, and international style. TINFF Live, featuring live performances that bring stories to life through music, spoken word, dance, and cultural showcases, opens the festival on 4th September and closes it on 12th September.
The festival closes on Saturday 12th September 2026 with the Prestigious Red Carpet Closing Gala Awards at the Pearson Convention Centre, 2638 Steeles Avenue East, Brampton, Ontario, a night of glamour, celebration, and recognition of excellence in film.
Festival venues include York Woods Library Theatre, Fairview Library Theatre at 35 Fairview Mall Drive, and Palmerston Library Theatre at 560 Palmerston Avenue.
