The Nigerian International Film Summit has opened a call for film submissions from Nigerian filmmakers ahead of its 2026 edition, scheduled to hold in Lagos from 25th to 27th August 2026. The deadline for submission is 29th July 2026.

The Nigerian International Film Summit is designed to bridge the gap between Nollywood and the global film industry, connecting Nigerian and African filmmakers to global markets while ensuring authentic storytelling meets international quality standards. The summit provides a platform for upcoming and established filmmakers to showcase their stories, pitch their projects, and access business opportunities with distributors, investors, and global executives.

Over the years, NIFS has evolved into an international platform for the African film industry, fostering business, networking, and capacity building among African film professionals and creative entrepreneurs. As a business-to-business and professional matchmaking event, it has driven high-level conversations and networking opportunities for film professionals, producers, buyers, distributors, financiers, and investors on new and existing film business innovations while building capacity for the industry and providing financing opportunities.

The main objective of the summit is to provide a platform for extensively examining issues related to the business of film in Nigeria as it relates to Hollywood distribution in Nigeria and the Nollywood appeal for international distribution across territories. Nigerian producers are constantly faced with the challenge of discovering new and dynamic models for revenue through various distribution channels, and the summit is designed to address those challenges directly.

The 2026 edition will see the return of the ISDE programme and has already announced shortlisted projects for the Best of Africa Pitch at MIP London, reaffirming NIFS’s commitment to fostering growth and innovation within the African creative industry. From panel discussions and workshops to film screenings and networking sessions, the three-day event is structured to impact skills and build future partnerships with global markets.

Nigerian filmmakers interested in having their films considered for screening at the 2026 NIFS must submit before the 29th July 2026 deadline. Further information and submission details are available at nifsummit.com.
