Benneth Nwankwo

Benneth Nwankwo is a Nigerian independent filmmaker, director, cinematographer, and founder of BN Media Films. His work focuses on youth-driven storytelling, exploring themes such as relationships, ambition, identity, social pressure, and modern African life. He is known for producing emotionally engaging Nollywood films and web series with emerging talents, strong visual storytelling, and digital-first distribution. He has written and directed several notable projects including This Is My Story (a film addressing police brutality and survival), Abuse of Rights, and the teen drama series Like Filtered Water, which explores friendship, love, peer pressure, and family challenges among Nigerian teenagers. In 2022, he directed Breakout, a teen dance-drama series that follows young dancers balancing school, relationships, and the pursuit of their dreams. The series became recognized for its energetic performances and focus on youth ambition in Nigeria. In 2023, he released Class of Secrets, a high-school crime drama series centered on a student investigating her sister’s mysterious death within an elite school hiding dark secrets. The project attracted wide attention and featured emerging actors from across Nigeria, further establishing his reputation for talent discovery and youth-centered storytelling.
