About the film

Claire is a young, independent woman who has deliberately chosen a life without children. But when her older sister, Olivia, struggles with infertility and fears losing her marriage, Claire is pressured into making a life-changing sacrifice: becoming a surrogate mother for her sister and her husband, Nathan. Despite her reservations, Claire eventually agrees, believing she is helping the family she loves. However, what begins as an act of love soon becomes a painful emotional burden. After the baby arrives and circumstances change, Olivia and their mother, Mrs. Evelyn, begin to take Claire's sacrifice for granted, expecting her to take on responsibilities she never agreed to. As family secrets, selfish decisions, and broken promises come to light, Claire is forced to confront a heartbreaking truth: sometimes the people we sacrifice everything for are the same people who hurt us the most. THE WEIGHT OF YES is an emotional family drama about sisterhood, infertility, family pressure, sacrifice, betrayal, and the courage to choose yourself even when saying no comes at a cost.
